Compress Image Online

Reduce JPG, PNG or WebP file size without visible quality loss.

Your files never leave your device

Compress image files to make photos lighter for WhatsApp, email, websites and online forms. Choose a quality level and keep your original format, or type the exact size in KB you need. For exam forms, resize image to 20KB in one step, or turn the photos into a PDF with JPG to PDF.

How to compress image

  1. Tap “Choose a file” and pick one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP or iPhone HEIC).
  2. Keep the default 70% quality to reduce photo size with no visible change, or switch to “To a size in KB” and enter the limit you need.
  3. Wait a moment while each image is compressed. The new size and the saving are shown under it.
  4. Download each image, or tap “Download all as ZIP” when you compressed several.

What the two modes do

By qualityKeeps JPG as JPG, PNG as PNG and WebP as WebP. PNGs are shrunk by reducing colours.
To a size in KBSaves a JPG as close as possible under your limit, lowering quality first and size only if needed.
Image sizeUnchanged unless you pick a maximum like 1920 px
BatchAny number of images, processed one after another

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my photo get?

A typical 3–5 MB phone photo drops to 300–800 KB at 70% quality without any difference you can see on a phone screen. Screenshots and PNGs with few colours shrink even more. If a file is already well optimised we keep the original instead of making it bigger.

Which quality should I choose?

70% is right for most photos you share or upload. Use 80–90% for photos you may print, and 40–60% when the file must be very small, such as for a form. If a form gives a size limit in KB, use the “To a size in KB” tab instead of guessing a quality.

Does compressing a PNG turn it into a JPG?

Not in “By quality” mode: a PNG stays a PNG, and transparent areas stay transparent. The size goes down by using fewer colours. In “To a size in KB” mode the result is a JPG, because JPG reaches small sizes far better than PNG.

Are my photos uploaded anywhere?

No. The compression code runs inside your browser on your own phone or computer. Your images are not sent to any server, and they disappear from memory when you close the page.

Can I compress many images at once?

Yes. Select several files together, or use “Add more images” after the first batch. They are processed one after another so cheap phones do not run out of memory, and you can download them all in a single ZIP file.

Will the photo lose its location and camera details?

Yes, in most cases. Re-saving the image drops hidden EXIF data such as GPS location and camera model, which is safer when you share photos online. The visible picture, including its correct rotation, is kept.
