Convert PNG to JPG

Convert PNG images to smaller JPG files.

Your files never leave your device

Convert PNG to JPG when PNG screenshots and images are far bigger than they need to be. JPG files are small enough for forms, email and WhatsApp, and you can upload them anywhere a JPG is required. Then resize image to 50KB for a strict limit, or turn them into a PDF with JPG to PDF.

How to convert PNG to JPG

  1. Choose your PNG files.
  2. Optionally adjust the JPG quality (92% by default). PNG to JPEG works the same way.
  3. Each file is converted straight away. Transparent areas are filled with white.
  4. Download the JPGs, or all of them as a ZIP.

Tips for best results

  • Screenshots are usually PNG. Converting them to JPG before attaching them to an email makes them several times smaller and faster to send.
  • Logos and drawings with a transparent background get a white background as JPG. Keep the PNG if you need the transparency for a website or a design.
  • Lower the quality slider only if you need a really small file; text in screenshots stays sharp at 85% and above.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to transparent backgrounds?

JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Without this they would turn black, which is a common problem with other converters. For example, a logo on a transparent background becomes a logo on white.

How much smaller will the file be?

For photos saved as PNG, typically 70–90% smaller. For screenshots with lots of flat colour and text, the saving is smaller but still large. The before-and-after size is shown for every file.

Will text in my screenshot become blurry?

At the default 92% quality, text stays crisp. If you lower the quality a lot, faint halos can appear around letters, which is why we start high.

Can I convert PNG to JPG under a certain KB?

Yes. Convert here, or go straight to Resize Image to 50KB or 100KB, which also accept PNG files and save a JPG under the limit.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Conversion happens in your browser. Your images never leave your device.
