Compress Documents for Online Form

Shrink certificates and ID scans under 100–500 KB as JPG or one PDF.

Your files never leave your device

Already have a PDF? Compress PDF shrinks it to any size.

Compress documents for online form uploads: admission and job portals want certificates and ID proofs under a fixed size, often 100–500 KB. Upload photos or scans of your documents and get clear, readable files under the limit, as separate JPGs or combined into one PDF. Already have a PDF? Compress PDF to 100KB directly, or merge PDF files first.

How to compress documents for online form

  1. Choose “Separate JPG files” or “One PDF”, and pick the size limit (per file, or for the whole PDF).
  2. Keep “Clean up scan” on so phone photos look like scans, with whiter paper and sharper text.
  3. Add your document photos, for example to compress certificates and mark sheets. For a PDF, select the pages in order.
  4. Download the JPGs (or a ZIP) or the PDF and check the size before uploading.

Frequently asked questions

Will the text still be readable after compression?

Yes, at normal limits. A one-page certificate at A4 200 DPI stays clearly readable at 100–200 KB. The clean-up step makes the paper white and the text dark, which also makes the file smaller. Very small limits for many pages may soften fine print. Check the result and pick a larger limit if needed.

How do I take a good photo of a document?

Place it flat on a dark surface in daylight, hold the phone straight above it so the page fills the frame, and avoid your shadow. Turn off the flash, because it causes glare. The clean-up option then removes the grey tint.

Can I compress a PDF here?

This tool works with photos and scans (JPG, PNG, HEIC) and can turn them into a PDF. To shrink a file that is already a PDF, use Compress PDF, which reaches any size from 50 KB to 1 MB.

Should I choose black and white?

For text-only documents, yes: files get smaller and text gets crisper. Keep colour for documents with photos, coloured seals or stamps that the reviewer needs to see.

Are my certificates kept on your server?

No. Documents are processed only inside your browser and are never uploaded. That matters for ID proofs and certificates, which contain personal details.
