Split PDF files into smaller parts, or keep only the pages you need. That is handy when a portal wants each certificate as a separate upload, or when a file is too large to send. Then compress PDF parts for upload, or merge PDF pieces in a new order.
How to split PDF
- Select the PDF.
- Choose a method: by ranges (like 1-3, 4-6), every N pages, or extract pages from PDF into one new file.
- Type the pages, using the page count shown as a guide.
- Tap “Split PDF”, then download each file or all of them in a ZIP.
Tips for best results
- Use “Every N pages” with 1 to turn a scanned bundle into one file per page, then rename the files you need.
- To send only part of a long PDF by email, extract just those pages instead of sending the whole file.
How to write page ranges
| 1-3 | Pages 1, 2 and 3 |
|---|---|
| 5 | Only page 5 |
| 8- | Page 8 to the last page |
| 1-3, 6, 9- | Three files (ranges mode) or one file (extract mode) |
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between “By ranges” and “Extract pages”?
By ranges makes one new PDF for each range you type, so “1-2, 3-5” gives two files. Extract pages puts all the pages you list into a single new PDF, in the order you type them.
Can I split a PDF into single pages?
Yes. Choose “Every N pages” and enter 1. A 10-page PDF becomes 10 files, which you can download together as a ZIP.
Does splitting reduce quality?
No. Pages are copied exactly and nothing is re-compressed. Each new file is roughly as large as its share of the pages.
Can I change the page order while extracting?
Yes. In extract mode, pages are taken in the order you type, so “3, 1, 2” puts page 3 first. To drag pages into order visually, use Reorder PDF Pages.
What if I type a page that does not exist?
The tool tells you which page is out of range and how many pages the PDF has, so you can correct it before anything is created.
