Tips for best results

How long does a 50 MB PDF take?
About a few seconds per page on a mid-range phone, faster on a laptop. A 30-page scan usually finishes in under a minute. Keep the page open and the screen on until it finishes.
Is 1 MB the same as 1000 KB or 1024 KB?
Portals differ. We keep the file under 1,000,000 bytes, which is under 1 MB by either definition.
My scanning app's PDF is huge. Why?
Scanning apps often save each page as a full-resolution colour photo, 3–5 MB per page. For reading on screen and for portals, 150 DPI is plenty, so most of that size can go without visible loss.
Will the PDF still print well?
Yes for normal documents. At 1 MB, pages are typically kept at 100–150 DPI, which prints text clearly on A4. For high-quality printing of photos, keep the original.
Can I compress a PDF that is over 200 MB?
Split it into smaller parts with Split PDF first, because very large files can exceed a phone browser's memory. Compress each part, then merge them again if needed.
